Happy Valentine!

Had a nice day - I spent the day with my parents. We went to the bead show at the fairgrounds this morning and, as I call it, "had a party!" I bought the prettiest bunch of beads. I belong to "High on Dolls", doll club and we are bringing Anne Hesse in to teach a class, in March. These will be the color of my doll's beaded face. I will incorporate these colors in her body, arms and ribbons too. I am so looking forward to it.
I picked up these beautiful moonstone beads too. They sure are magical looking.
We also went to the Canton Museum of art and saw the most amazing exhibit. anyone reading this in the vicinity of Canton Ohio really should make the effort to see this. It was "Kimono as Art, The Landscapes of Itchiku Kubota. Photos do not do this art justice. He uses the kimonos as his canvas and paints scenery on them. It is so detailed and unusual. He died about 4 yrs ago and was in his mid 80's. It is here thru April 26. It is not a huge exhibit - there are about 35-40 pieces total.
I included photos of some recently completed projects too. I belong to an art group we call "no rules" (because there are no rules!). We did an altered puzzle project and exchanges our pieces in January. We each picked a theme and had to decorate pieces from each person's puzzle. My theme was doors. The other themes in the group were hearts, the beach, dolls and midlife reflections. They all turned out great. I have mine posted here. I also joined a new doll club. Their 2nd meeting is tomorrow- we had to make little pin dolls with patterns and faces provided in the meeting. I made the white face from a mold and made both patterns Mary handed out. They are kind of fun little guys....

A new month - continued

A new month....

Well, January is over. Hopefully only 2 more months of winter. It is the most beautiful day here today- in the 30's!!!!!!!!!! It is like summer time compares to what we have had for the last 30 days. We have had a brutal January - 40.7 inches of snow. We just missed a record for the month by 2 little inches....
Went to breakfast with my friend Kathy and my friend Kelly. Had a great Sunday morning, as usual. Lots of laughs, talking and of course the food. I couldn't have better friends. They own "The Spirit of Clay" ceramic studio in Mayfield Village, OH. If you are in the area, you should check it out.
I have photos here from inauguration day. After Obama was sworn in, I went to Lakeview Cemetery. I was not morning the new president - actually I was celebrating the change our country is about to go thru. I know it will be difficult, but hope and pray we will be a better people and place for it.
Back to the cemetery (hahaha) Lakeview is a beautiful, historic place. I think of it as an outdoor museum. There are the most wonderful statues here. I have photos of them from the fall. It was such a beautiful day here on Jan 20- I was off; it was snowing; so I took the cameras to the cemetery to see if I could find my favorite statues. I did and here are some nice photos. They look like they have on a fur hat and shawl....
