Had a nice day - I spent the day with my parents. We went to the bead show at the fairgrounds this morning and, as I call it, "had a party!" I bought the prettiest bunch of beads. I belong to "High on Dolls", doll club and we are bringing Anne Hesse in to teach a class, in March. These will be the color of my doll's beaded face. I will incorporate these colors in her body, arms and ribbons too. I am so looking forward to it.
I picked up these beautiful moonstone beads too. They sure are magical looking.
We also went to the Canton Museum of art and saw the most amazing exhibit. anyone reading this in the vicinity of Canton Ohio really should make the effort to see this. It was "Kimono as Art, The Landscapes of Itchiku Kubota. Photos do not do this art justice. He uses the kimonos as his canvas and paints scenery on them. It is so detailed and unusual. He died about 4 yrs ago and was in his mid 80's. It is here thru April 26. It is not a huge exhibit - there are about 35-40 pieces total.
I included photos of some recently completed projects too. I belong to an art group we call "no rules" (because there are no rules!). We did an altered puzzle project and exchanges our pieces in January. We each picked a theme and had to decorate pieces from each person's puzzle. My theme was doors. The other themes in the group were hearts, the beach, dolls and midlife reflections. They all turned out great. I have mine posted here. I also joined a new doll club. Their 2nd meeting is tomorrow- we had to make little pin dolls with patterns and faces provided in the meeting. I made the white face from a mold and made both patterns Mary handed out. They are kind of fun little guys....
